Oklahoma City Ballet is set to perform three showings of a stunning triple bill performance February 26-28 - Scheherazade: 1001 Arabian Nights: A Triple Bill. The exotic scenery and costumes are a visual feast that will enrapture the senses and delight all that attend.

Headlining the triple bill performance is Scheherazade- 1001 Arabian Nights, featuring Dennis Spaight’s choreography set to Nickolai Rimsky- Karsakov’s dramatic original score that tells a uniquely memorable version of the classic story of 1001 Arabian Nights.

Also on the program is Nacho Duato’s Without Words, which refers to six songs by Franz Schubert, transcribed for cello by Mischa Maisky. The songs are instrumental music, or music “without words,” where love and death appear as the central subjects derived from the music. Originally choreographed for American Ballet Theatre, Without Words is a signature piece of Duato, one of today’s most prolific international choreographers.

Ma Cong, up and coming resident choreographer of Tulsa Ballet, will round out the evening by presenting a World Premiere.

A lecture and “Q & A” session will be hosted by Artistic Director Robert Mills featuring Carol Schults, répétiteur for Scheherazade- 1001 Arabian Nights; Africa Guzman, répétiteur for Without Words; and Ma Cong, choreographer of his world premiere. This rare opportunity is only on Friday, February 26, at 7:15 p.m. in the South Lobby of the Civic Center. This event is free for those with tickets to the performance.

Scheherazade: 1001 Arabian Nights: A Triple Bill is presented by Riley Exploration Group. Single tickets start at $15 and are available now through OKC Ballet and Civic Center Box Offices.

Performances are on Friday, February 26 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, February 27 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday February 28 at 2 p.m. Single tickets to Scheherazade- 1001 Arabian Nights: A Triple Bill can be purchased by calling 405-848- TOES (8637) or by going online at www.okcballet.com/scheherazade/.
