OKC Broadway 2026 – 2027 season series

The 2026-2027 OKC Broadway Season will begin with the Oklahoma City premiere of the four-time Tony® Award-winning Best Musical, The Outsiders, followed by one of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved musicals, The Sound of Music.

Then, Cameron Mackintosh’s revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical The Phantom Of The Opera will arrive for 16 performances! We’ll bring in the new year with a timeless love story based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, The Notebook.

The party comes alive with The Great Gatsby, the Tony Award®-winning new musical that brings F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic story and the Roaring Twenties to the stage. Then, get ready for Death Becomes Her, the Tony® Award-winning drop-dead hilarious new musical comedy based on the classic 1992 film. Closing out the season will be the five-time Tony Award®–winning musical Buena Vista Social Club™, an uplifting story inspired by true events that brings the GRAMMY® Award–winning album to life.

Added Season Specials include the return of Hamilton, along with Waitress, and The Bodyguard!

“Our patrons have asked for as many of Broadway’s biggest hits as we can bring them—Oklahoma City premieres, big National tours of shows still currently playing on Broadway, and return engagements of their absolute favorite musicals,” said Elizabeth Gray, General Manager of OKC Broadway and Chief Executive Officer of the Civic Center Foundation. “The new season begins in August and includes seven shows plus three major off-season specials, making this the most shows we’ve announced in a season series. The Outsiders - August 25 – 30, 2026

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family of ‘outsiders’ battle with their affluent rivals, the Socs. The Outsiders navigates the complexities of self-discovery as the Greasers dream about who they want to become in a world that may never accept them. With a dynamic original score, The Outsiders is a story of friendship, family, belonging…and the realization that there is still “lots of good in the world.”                                                                                             Recommended for ages 10+

The Sound Of Music - September 22 – 27, 2026

For 65 years, The Sound of Music has been one of our “favorite things.” With its timeless story and irresistibly charming score, this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic isn’t just meant to be enjoyed - it’s meant to be shared. Directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray), this vibrant and romantic tale of Maria and the von Trapp family features beloved songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and “Edelweiss.” Recommended for all ages.

The Phantom Of The Opera - November 4 – 15, 2026  (16 Performances!)

The Phantom tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as ‘The Phantom’ who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, The Phantom’s obsession sets the stage for a dramatic turn of events in which jealousy, madness, and passion collide. Recommended for ages 8+.

The Notebook - December 29, 2026 – January 3, 2027

Based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, The Notebook tells the story of Allie and Noah, both from different worlds, who share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart. “Full of butterfly-inducing highs and beautiful songs” (Entertainment Weekly), The Notebook is a deeply moving portrait of the enduring power of love.                                                                                                                  

The Great Gatsby - March 23 – 28, 2027

The Great Gatsby is a “Broadway extravaganza that explodes with life and energy” (Entertainment Weekly). Based on the classic American novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the Tony Award®-winning new musical is an unforgettable journey of love, wealth and tragedy that brings the Roaring Twenties to life on stage—recommended for ages 10+.

Death Becomes Her April 13 – 18, 2027

Death Becomes Her is the Tony® Award-winning, drop-dead hilarious new musical comedy based on the classic 1992 film. Some people will do anything to look eternally fabulous. But famous actress Madeline Ashton and her best frenemy Helen Sharp are about to go too far…thanks to a mysterious woman named Viola Van Horn and a secret potion that’s to die for—recommended for ages 12+.

Buena Vista Social Club™ - May 25 – 30, 2027

The Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning Buena Vista Social Club™ is a journey through music and memory into the beating heart of Havana. It’s been years since legendary singer Omara Portuondo last entered a recording studio. Once known as the “Queen of Feeling,” her voice was celebrated throughout Cuba – until she vanished from the spotlight. Waitress - Added Season Special - January 29 – 31, 2027

Meet Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage. Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life, such as “The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie” and “Betrayed By My Eggs Pie.” When a baking contest in a nearby county — and a satisfying encounter with someone new — show Jenna a chance at a fresh start, she must find the courage to seize it. Change is on the menu, as long as Jenna can write her own perfectly personal recipe for happiness. Recommended for ages 13+.                                                                            

The Bodyguard - Added Season Special - April 2 – 4, 2027

Based on the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard is a thrilling, romantic musical that combines high-stakes suspense with unforgettable music. Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Both expect to be in charge of their situations—what they don’t expect is to fall in love—recommended for Ages 10+.
