OKC Pride on 39th postponed due to pandemic

In an abundance of caution, the 39^th Street District Association is postponing the 32^nd Annual OKC Pride celebration to keep our community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Association will continue to work closely with City Services to assure that if Pride happens in 2020, it will be on 39^th St. Pride on 39^th will continue to monitor the situation before setting a new date for their Pride event.

Since 1988, OKC Pride has taken place in Oklahoma’s premiere LGBTQ entertainment district, and we are determined to see this historic celebration - the largest privately held event in OKC - continue to represent the determination, grit, and progress that exemplify Oklahoma’s LGBTQ Community.

"No one understands the dangers of a viral pandemic more than the LGBTQ Community," said John Gibbons, president of the 39^th St. District Association. "We refuse to take any chance of making this crisis worse.

"We are working with the City, and are determined to hold Pride in OKC’s historic LGBTQ District, just as our community has done for the past 32 years. We look forward to celebrating progress with tens of thousands of Oklahomans as soon as it is safe to do so.”
