Organics OKC celebrates nine years in business

Nearly nine years ago, Marc and Janine Bradley opened Organics OKC garden supply store. With a few hundred dollars in their pockets, the couple set out to open the business that everyone knows and loves today.

Marc would tell you it was born more out of frustration.

"The only garden supply store in town at the time barely carried any product and had very limited knowledge on the products they did carry," he said.

In the beginning, it was very tight quarters in the original store and a passion for making a difference in the growing community. That desire to make a difference has been driving force behind the Bradley's long relationship with the community.

It was the early days of the grassroots efforts to change the cannabis laws here in Oklahoma that they opened their doors to the community. Activists would meet up at OKC Organics to turn in petitions and talk about current efforts starting with the decriminalization petition and others.

Organics OKC also hosts different types of informative hands-on classes throughout the year. If you're new to gardening, don't be afraid to get your hands dirty because the hard-working, dedicated staff is there to help you with all your growing needs.

Several of the employees working at Organics OKC are also students at OSU-OKC and are educated in various botany or horticulture areas of study.

So if you need some tips on growing, or want to stop by and “talk shop,” be it cannabis, produce or ornamentals; just stop on by and say hello. You'll be stepping into the longest running grow supply store in Oklahoma City and will be greeted with a warm smile and a friendly welcome.

Organics OKC is located near the OKC "gayborhood" at 2800 N Pennsylvania Ave in OKC. Call them at (405) 528-4769 or visit www.organicsokc.com for more information.
