The owners of a popular Pennsylvania wedding venue called the “Star Barn” have banned same-sex marriages.

The venue is a part of the Stone Gables Estate, which has a policy restricting reservations to gay couples.

Owner David Abel told PennLive he believes marriage is between a man and a woman, and the idea of accepting gay couples into the venue goes against his religious beliefs.

A spokesperson with Pennsylvania’s Human Relations Commission said it’s difficult to determine if this case falls under the Religious Exemption of the PHRC Act.

The company has since come under fire on social media, with people boycotting the venue.
