Spring chamber music festival: “The music of France”

The Festival will be performed in St. Paul’s Cathedral, the finest acoustical facility for chamber music in OKC.

On June 12, 14, 15 and 17, Oklahoma City’s own Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble will present a four-concert Spring Music Festival – “The Music of France” – the third festival that Brightmusic has hosted in our city. It will feature music of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Hector Berlioz, Camille Saint-Saëns, Oliver Messiaen, Gabriel Fauré and Francis Poulenc, among others.

Each concert will present different works. The program is: Concert No. 1 – The French clarinet – works for clarinet & piano (June 12); Concert No. 2 – Ravel and Fauré (June 14); Concert No. 3 – French winds and strings (June 15); and Concert No. 4 – La Fin Du Temps – Mae Ruth Swanson memorial concert (June 17).

The Festival will be performed in St. Paul’s Cathedral, the finest acoustical facility for chamber music in OKC. The evening concerts will be given at 7:30pm, and the Sunday afternoon concert will be given at 4pm. Admission is $15 per concert for adults; students with ID and Brightmusic’s 2013-14 Season Members are free of charge. A Festival Pass for all four concerts is now available online for $45/person. Festival Passes will also be sold at the door to the first night’s concert.
