Springfield Little Theatre presents "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"

(Springfield, MO) Based on the popular film, the Springfield Little Theatre production of the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers on two con-men living on the French Riviera. One makes his living by talking rich ladies out of their money. The other, more humbly, swindles women by appealing to their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health. After meeting, they try working together only to find out that the town isn’t big enough for both of them. They agree on a plan: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target wins and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep you laughing, humming and guessing to the end.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a 2004 comedy musical, with music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Jeffrey Lane; it is based on the 1988 film of the same name. The musical premiered on Broadway in 2005 and ran for 626 performances. It has since received tours and international productions. A West End (London) production opened in 2014 to generally warm reviews.
