On February 12, Donald Trump tweeted, “How can Ted Cruz be an Evangelical Christian when he lies so much and is so dishonest?” questioning the faith of a fellow candidate.

Today, however, Pope Francis questioned the faith of anyone who wants to build walls instead of bridges, implicating Trump, whose immigration policy consists of building a wall on the US-Mexico border.

Trump then subsequently put his foot in his mouth, saying that a leader who questions a person's religious faith is "disgraceful," such as the Pope.

According to the AP, Francis said, "A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian," Francis said. "This is not in the Gospel…I'd just say that this man is not Christian if he said it this way."

In response to Francis, Trump released a statement saying, “No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith."

Has Trump forgotten about his tweet a mere six days ago? Or is a political leader or a businessman, then, immune to such disgrace?
