Church paints steps in rainbow colors after crosswalk order

A church in the Lone Star State has painted its steps with rainbow colors.
Oak Lawn United Methodist Church in Dallas says the new look is “not one of defiance but of faith.”
The paint job comes in the aftermath of Governor Greg Abbott’s order calling for the removal of decorative crosswalks on roadways. Cities throughout Texas have a month to comply or face the risk of losing future funding for transportation projects.
The rainbow and rainbow colors have long been seen as a symbol of support for the gay community. There are currently several rainbow intersections near Oak Lawn Methodist Church.
City leaders in Dallas haven't said what they plan to do.
