Fall Diversity and “Our Big Fat Gay Wedding”

Our Big Fat Gay Wedding is part of Eureka Springs upcoming Fall Diversity Weekend, Nov. 1-3.

Our Big Fat Gay Wedding, a celebration of recently and soon-to-be wed couples, and a fundraiser for the legal challenge to Arkansas' marriage ban, will be held in Eureka Springs Nov. 1-2 in conjunction with the Fall Diversity Weekend. Friday evening events will include a Rehearsal Dinner at Cafe Amore and a wild and sexy Bachelor/Bachelorette Party at Voulez Vous.

Saturday morning, couples wishing to marry will line up at the courthouse to apply for marriage licenses. Then, in Basin Park, as part of the traditional Public Display of Affection, couples will be invited to publicly proclaim their love, commitment and vows to one another over a PA from the bandshell. This will be followed by the Wedding March, a procession/parade up Spring Street to The Space, where a wedding reception will be held.

Wedding attire of all kinds is encouraged. A professional wedding photographer will capture the day for happy couples. Cheryl Maples, the attorney who filed the lawsuit on behalf of 20 couples, will also be on hand to speak about the case and answer questions.

Our Big Fat Gay Wedding promises to be a fun, memorable and historic event on the road to marriage equality in Arkansas. All are invited to participate. Look for more information at www.gayeurekasprings.com or on the Our Big Fat Gay Wedding Facebook page.
