Happy 2016 Pride with Pride Sangria

If you’re throwing a pre-Pride celebration at your home before heading to the strip or parade, camp up a batch of my Pride Sangria and have a gay (and responsible) ol’ time!
This idea is actually quite easy and you can make it work for intimate settings by pouring the sangria in pre “fruited” glasses, or for larger gatherings in large glass spigot container on a pedestal (lesbians: an ice chest with a drain). Whatever is easier on you.
Have a wonderful Pride weekend, month, year, and life. Love you much, OKC!
Ingredients:
1 refrigerated bottle dry white wine
3 tablespoons light amber Agave Nectar
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
8 cups diced/sliced rainbow colored fruit*
2 ounces brandy (optional)
1/2 cup club soda or ginger ale (your call)
Make: In a pitcher (or glass spigot container), combine wine, agave nectar, lime juice, brandy and stir until combined.
Add fruit to your serving glasses or (separate) pitcher in your desired color order. Then pour the wine over the fruit until the fruit is covered. Refrigerate the drinks for 15 minutes to let the flavors develop for the first round, then pour as you will for the remaining rounds.
Top with a “float” of club soda or finer ale
*To make a rainbow of fruit, you will need bite-sized fruit in the rainbow colors (ROY G. BIV: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet). I used the first fruit listed in each color, specifically because I wanted them to be edible right out of the glass with a spoon. (Instead of a lime wedge, etc.)
Red: pomegranate seeds, strawberries, raspberry
Orange: mandarin oranges, apricot, peach, nectarine
Yellow: fresh (not canned) pineapple
Green: kiwi, honeydew, green grapes, fresh mint leaves
Blue: blueberries
Purple: red grapes, blackberries, dark plum
For The Kids: Freeze colored ice cubes (use water and your choice of liquid food coloring). Layer cubes in a glass and fill with favorite clear beverage… flavored water, lemon/lime soda, etc.
