TheatreSquared produces madcap musical comedy "Murder For Two"

"Murder For Two" in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville’s TheatreSquared presents Murder For Two, a zany murder mystery musical comedy inspired by Agatha Christie and the Marx Brothers in which everyone is a suspect. Murder For Two is a perfect blend of music, mayhem and murder in which two actors play 13 different roles - and the piano.

Everyone's a suspect in this multi-award-winning musical comedy fresh from its national debut. A small-town policeman dreams of making it to detective—and one fateful night, his opportunity arrives in the form of a dead Great American Novelist.

One actor investigates, the other plays every suspect, and both play the piano in this whip-smart, winking homage to an old-fashioned theatrical murder mystery.

Written by Joe Kinosian (Music) and Kellen Blair (Lyrics), with Kinosian and Blair collaborating on the book, Murder For Two pays homage to old-fashioned murder mysteries and classic musical theatre. The New York Times dubbed the show “Ingenious! A snazzy double-act!” while Entertainment Weekly describes it as "A charmingly frenetic all-stops out musical comedy.”

The play runs May 12 through 29 at Walton Arts Center’s Studio Theatre at the Nadine Baum Studios. Single tickets are now on sale, and range from $15 to $45. Evening performances Wednesdays through Saturdays are at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. To buy tickets, visit www.theatre2.org, or by phone at (479) 443-5600.
