“Three Colorful Trios”
On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble presents a trio of trios in their Concert 4 “Three Colorful Trios,” at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The evening starts on a light and airy note with Emil Hartmann’s enchantingly romantic Serenade for Clarinet, Cello and Piano in A Major, Op. 24; continues with Aaron Jay Kernis’ colorful Trio in Red for Cello, Clarinet and Piano; and concludes with Johannes Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major, Op. 8 for Piano, Violin and Cello, which was Brahms’ first “official” chamber work that underwent extensive revision some 35 years later. It is that version that is most often heard and will be performed at this concert.
Brightmusic musicians appearing will be Hal Grossman (violin), Jonathan Ruck (cello), Meredith Blecha-Wells (cello), Chad Burrow (clarinet) and Amy I-Lin Cheng (piano).
The concert will be at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 127 NW 7th Street (at Robinson). Individual concert admission is $20 per ticket.
