Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, said Wednesday that Republicans who say they'll refuse to support Donald Trump if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee are "fools," according to The Christian Post.

"I think the Bible has a word for people like that — it's fools," said Jeffress in an interview. "I believe any Christian who would sit at home and not vote for the Republican nominee … that person is being motivated by pride rather than principle and I think it would be a shame for people to allow Hillary Clinton four or eight years in the White House," he said.

This isn't the first time Jeffress has supported Trump. Just last month, The Gayly reported that Jeffress weighed in on Pope Francis's recent comments critical of the presidential nominee.

“The pope needs to ask for Donald Trump’s forgiveness for saying such an outlandish thing,” Jeffress said. “I do have to hand it to the Pope. He performed a miracle today. He has done what nobody in history’s been able to do: He has turned Donald Trump into a martyr.

“And I believe because of that, Trump’s poll numbers are going to continue to go up, because as much as people respect the pope, they don’t want the pope inserting himself in the American election, and they sure don’t want to be taking advice from the pope on American security.”
