(Oklahoma City) The second annual “Pupnic in the Park” will be held Saturday, April 13, 1-4pm at Ross Park, NW 62nd at Ross in OKC (just east of May). This year, Pupnic plans to fund a water fountain for people and dogs, a dog agility playground, saving existing trees from erosion and weed control.

Last year, approximately 1,500 dogs and their people, and 22 dog rescue groups with dogs for adoption attended. The 2012 Pupnic received the Best Neighborhood Project award presented by the OKC Neighborhood Alliance.

“The Pupnic was more fun than even we could have imagined,” said Emily Garman, event co-chair and co-owner of OMG! (Oklahoma Media Group). “The dogs loved performing in the dog contests, walking in the parade and just being in such a relaxed and dog-friendly atmosphere.”

Contests include tallest and smallest dogs, “best of”… costume, trick, kisser, tail wag and more.

The event is sponsored by the Fairdale-Belle Isle-Riviera Neighborhood Association and raises money to make improvements to Ross Park, which they adopted.

Sponsor, vendor, and raffle information is available at www.pupnic.com. There is no fee for dog rescues and dog welfare non-profits to participate. Rain date, April 14.
